The Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning focuses on theoretical and practical challenges related to educational uses of technologies for teaching and learning in formal and informal educational settings.
The Centre is a hub for research and practice in technology enhanced learning. Underpinned by a small core team mostly based in the Department of Educational Research, the Centre has Associate Members drawn from a range of other departments across tt娱乐 and from other groups worldwide with whom we maintain close links. We encourage the participation of a range of PhD students currently conducting their thesis research, and we benefit from the ongoing contributions of Alumni Members who previously obtained their doctorates in the Department. The current co-Directors of the Centre are Brett Bligh and Kyungmee Lee.
Our staff and doctoral researchers take an interdisciplinary stance and utilise a range of methodologies to systematically explore questions concerning educational technologies with respect to three interweaving research themes:
Taken together, the themes provide ways to deconstruct social, political, historical, and economical discourses behind the educational uses of technologies in day-to-day activities.
The Centre encourages links between research and teaching. Our teaching is research-led and our research is informed by our teaching, where the coursework is designed to allow students to build on their professional experience to conduct research and construct knowledge.
Our research is internationally renowned and our academic staff pursue rigorous research projects. The Centre has strong ties with institutions and schools in the UK and beyond.
